Medical Assistant at Aloha Urgent Care & Pain Clinic

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate empathy toward patients from greeting to check-out
• Answer phone, online and in-person inquiries from patients and their family
• Explain the payment policy, the diagnostic and treatment options, and service fees
• Check-in patients by guiding them through registration, measurement of vital signs, and history of present illness
• Assist the physician in various clinical procedures
• Check-out patients by dispensing medications and supplies, faxing prescriptions, and arranging labs and imaging tests
• Collect payment from patients by using point-of-sale hardware and software
• Manage and document tasks pertaining to patient care, billing, and accounting
• Organize medical supplies
• Clean all spaces of the clinic to maintain order, hygiene and infection control

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in urgent care, primary care, or specialist clinic
• Certificate in a Medical Assistant Program, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or another healthcare field; otherwise, at least 2 years of outpatient clinical experience are required
• Multitasks in all administrative and clinical duties
• Communicates effectively with patients and other staff
• Speaks fluent English. Additional language skills in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Spanish are preferred
